Fractional CPO

A Fractional Head of Procurement, also known as a Fractional Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), is a specialized consultant or executive who provides part-time or temporary leadership and strategic guidance to an organization’s procurement department. This role is commonly utilized by smaller companies, startups, or organizations that may not have the resources or need for a full-time Chief Procurement Officer.

Procurement Process Improvement

Assessing and improving procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Risk Management

Evaluating and mitigating risks associated with the supply chain, including supply disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance.

Policy and Compliance

Ensuring that procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

Team Leadership and Development

If applicable, providing leadership and guidance to the procurement team and assisting in the recruitment and development of procurement professionals.

Vendor Selection and Management

Selecting and managing the organization’s relationships with suppliers and vendors to meet its procurement needs.

Contract Negotiation

Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

The Fractional Head of Procurement typically works on a part-time or contract basis, and their role can be tailored to the specific needs and scale of the organization. This approach allows organizations to access the expertise and leadership of an experienced procurement executive without the commitment of hiring a full-time CPO.
