Steve Earley is a senior executive with 25 years of experience driving business development and executing global strategic and technical engagements for organizations across the Financial Services, Healthcare, Defense, Government, Public Accounting, and Technology sectors. Steve is focused on companies throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the DC Metro region, offering extensive knowledge, experience, and client support. Along with Valenta’s expertise providing consulting, digital transformation, and outsourcing services to companies across multiple industry verticals, Steve is able to leverage his in-depth knowledge across business operations and cybersecurity to help identify opportunities for businesses to thrive.
Prior to partnering with Valenta, Steve held several client-facing roles with organizations ranging in size from startups to Fortune 500 companies, focused on the growth and expansion of the customer experience, as well as building cutting-edge governance, security, and compliance (GRC) programs. Most notably, Steve recently led the Customer Audit Program at Amazon Web Services, driving detailed customer inspections of AWS cloud security by many of the largest financial institutions in the world. He also led and grew the consulting services business for a cybersecurity startup specializing in third party risk for large critical infrastructure and financial services customers. Additionally, Steve owned technical operations for a $100M defense contract with DISA, and he served as CISO for 2 large credit-card issuing banks and a large government agency for the State of Ohio.
Steve is a retired Commander in the United States Navy, with three tours as commanding officer. Initially serving as a line officer on three surface combatant ships, he transitioned to the intelligence community and specialized in information assurance and cyber intelligence in the second half of his 23-year career. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He also holds a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He currently lives with his wife in Alexandria, Virginia, and has two grown children in Cincinnati and Brooklyn.
